SFC at WATERTECH CHINA 2026: Advancing Sludge Treatment 2.0 Through Technology and Global Dialogue

Shanghai Fuchan Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. (SFC) successfully participated in WATERTECH CHINA 2026, held from June 9 to 11, 2026 at the Shanghai National Exhibition & Convention Center. As one of the key water industry platforms in Asia, the exhibition brought together professionals from wastewater treatment, water treatment, process control, engineering, transport and storage, and related environmental sectors.

For SFC, this exhibition was more than a product showcase. It was an opportunity to communicate directly with municipal wastewater treatment plants, industrial wastewater treatment operators, engineering companies, EPC contractors, and international visitors about the future direction of sludge treatment.

Focusing on Sludge Reduction and Integrated Treatment Solutions

During the exhibition, SFC presented its latest sludge treatment equipment and integrated sludge reduction concepts. Visitors showed strong interest in SFC’s wear-free multi-disc screw press sludge dewatering machine and sludge drying machine, especially in terms of stable operation, low maintenance, sludge volume reduction, and energy-efficient treatment.

Sludge treatment is becoming more complex for both municipal and industrial wastewater projects. Many facilities are no longer satisfied with single-stage dewatering only. Instead, they are looking for complete solutions that can reduce sludge volume, improve system stability, lower disposal pressure, and support long-term sustainable operation.

SFC’s sludge treatment solutions are designed around this practical demand. The company’s product range covers sludge thickening, sludge dewatering, deep dewatering, sludge drying, polymer preparation, sludge conveying, and other supporting systems. By connecting these processes properly, SFC helps customers build more efficient sludge management systems according to real project conditions.

Technical Communication with Municipal and Industrial Customers

Throughout the three-day exhibition, the SFC booth welcomed visitors from different regions and industries. Many discussions focused on common sludge treatment challenges, including unstable sludge characteristics, high moisture content, polymer consumption, equipment wear, clogging risk, maintenance workload, and downstream disposal cost.

SFC’s engineering team provided one-on-one technical communication based on project conditions. Instead of simply recommending a standard machine, the team discussed sludge source, inlet concentration, daily treatment capacity, target cake moisture, final disposal method, site layout, and operation requirements with visitors.

This project-based communication is especially important for industrial sludge treatment. Food processing sludge, paper mill sludge, chemical sludge, oily sludge, mining sludge, and municipal sludge may all require different equipment configurations. Proper selection can help avoid unstable operation and unnecessary lifecycle cost.

Sharing SFC’s View on “Sludge Treatment 2.0”

On June 9, SFC General Manager Wang Lei participated in the China Water & Wastewater 2026 Sludge Treatment and Disposal Forum held during the exhibition. His presentation, titled “Sludge Treatment 2.0,” shared SFC’s understanding of how the sludge treatment industry is moving from conventional end-stage dewatering toward a more integrated sludge reduction model.

The presentation focused on five key directions:

  • Industry evolution: how sludge dewatering routes and market scale have changed over the past two decades
  • Root causes of today’s dewatering challenges: why sludge is becoming more difficult to treat and how sludge structure affects performance
  • Sludge Treatment 2.0: a new paradigm moving from end-of-pipe dewatering to source-based sludge reduction
  • SFC Sludge Reduction Island™: four core modules designed to build a complete sludge reduction ecosystem
  • Cases and future outlook: engineering verification and the vision of intelligent sludge management centers

This technical sharing reflected SFC’s long-term focus on sludge reduction, resource recovery, and intelligent sludge treatment. It also showed the company’s commitment to combining equipment manufacturing with process understanding and engineering application.

From Equipment Display to Global Cooperation

WATERTECH CHINA 2026 also gave SFC a valuable opportunity to connect with international visitors and industry professionals. Overseas customers and partners paid attention not only to equipment appearance, but also to long-term performance, maintenance cost, spare parts, sludge adaptability, and integrated process design.

These discussions confirmed that global wastewater treatment projects are increasingly focused on practical operation value. Customers want sludge treatment systems that can reduce total disposal cost, simplify operation, improve reliability, and adapt to different sludge characteristics.

SFC will continue to support international customers with sludge treatment equipment and customized solutions for municipal and industrial wastewater projects. Through technical consultation, process design, equipment manufacturing, installation guidance, commissioning support, and after-sales service, SFC aims to provide reliable support throughout the project lifecycle.

Looking Ahead

SFC sincerely thanks every visitor, partner, customer, and industry expert who visited the booth, joined technical discussions, or exchanged ideas with the team during WATERTECH CHINA 2026.

The exhibition reinforced an important message: the future of sludge treatment will not depend on single equipment alone. It will require smarter process design, better system integration, more reliable operation, and stronger cooperation between equipment manufacturers, engineering companies, operators, and research institutions.

SFC will continue to focus on sludge thickening, dewatering, deep dewatering, drying, and complete sludge reduction solutions. With continuous innovation and engineering experience, the company is committed to helping municipal and industrial customers reduce sludge volume, improve treatment efficiency, and build more sustainable wastewater treatment systems.
